Glimpses of MTTC

 26th August 2022 Today was our last day at St Goretti’s HSS🥹 Before we did farewell, a small meeting was conducted in the HM’s office to formally thank the the teachers,staff and HM for supporting us throughout our internship period. As a token of gratitude a potted plant 🪴 was gifted to the HM and sweets were distributed for the faculty and staff.💞💫

 25th August 2022 Today, I had invigilation duty at 9A along with Sonia ma'am. Students from 9A , 9B and 10 A were seated in the room and they had their English exam. Both the classes had doubts regarding the questions and meaning of certain words .

 24th August 2022 Today the Onam exams have begun. We were given relieving duties for the invigilators at various classes. I had lunch and relieving duty. Also, we had discipline duty at the auditorium.

 23rd August 2022💫 Today was the last class before the Onam exams. I conducted revision classes for 9C and remedial class at 8D. Also, I had first period at 10C where I completed some of the pending problems in chapter ' Second Degree Equations'.

 22 nd August 2022🥰🌸 This is the last week at St Goretti's HSS. Today was the last class before the Onam exams. I conducted classes for 9B for last portions. I completed all my lesson plan. I took remedial teaching in classroom. I felt teaching practice really awesome.. really enjoyed it😊 Remedial education should be arranged according to a schedule and repeated as required. Learning difficulties people face: Poor memorization power Short attention span and are easily distracted Low level of comprehensive control Motivation to learn is lacking Lack of self-assurance and a low level of self-expectation Vulnerability of problem-solving abilities.  Failure to understand knowledge effectively and a proclivity for mixing things up.  Have a hard time grasping new or abstract ideas  Need additional time to complete my task

 20th August 2022 It was my 24th day of teaching practice. Today I reached school at 8.45 am. After the prayer I had substitution period in class 9D,9C,9A . I got to teach at 9 A for two periods. I started the remaining portion of new numbers. Some of the students in class 9D sang a song ..😅 Since most of the teachers had gone to a funeral, we were given substitution periods in various classes. I had substitution at 5D. Students were asked to introduce themselves and tell their ambitions. Most of them wanted to be police officers and wanted to join the military. One that caught my attention was a student's wish to become an Archaeologist which is a word you rarely hear from a 10-year-old. Little Vignesh had to explain who an archaeologist was and I must say he did not randomly pick up that word but had done enough homework to know what the job entails.  19th August 2022 It's almost the weekend. Today's schedule was packed. I had classes at 8D, 9C and 9B. The class at 9C was totally unexpected and I had to make quick preparations. 9C were doing problems from 'Second Degree Equations' which was a comparatively easier topic to prepare. Also, I took the diagnostic test at 9B today.

17th August 2022🥰 CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME🌸 Today we conducted our Conscientization program at 9C. The idea behind the topic was given by Sr. Jeena. In a limited time, we pulled off a short program on 'Stress Management'. I completed all of my LP's today.

 16th August 2022 ACHIEVEMENT TEST✨ It has been a while since we have come to school on a Tuesday. HM has allowed us a few more days to complete our pending work. This news came as a relief as I had a few more problems to finish at 9B. Also, we have our conscientization program pending to be done. As usual, I had classes at 9B .  15th August 2022 INDEPENDENCE DAY 🇮🇳  We were instructed to arrive at school by 7.30 AM to dress  up the students for various events before the flag hoisting at 8.30 AM.  There were students dressed up representing different states for the program 'Unity in Diversity' and students dressed as freedom fighters for the program 'With the Leaders'. Most of them showed up late at 8 AM and all of us our efforts with the timely help from the parents made it possible to start the rally on time. After the rally, students assembled at the auditorium for the scheduled program. Dr Saju of the Chemistry department of Mar Ivanios College was the chief guest. All the planned programs went well, even though it was planned at the last moment.

 12th August 2022 Today, the class teachers selected students from their class for Independence Day programs💫, which lifted a huge weight off our shoulders as students initially were reluctant to participate.✨ Sr Jeena and I were responsible for the 'Patriotic Song' program. Teachers from UP had selected students from various classes for the program and we just had to make sure that the students practised the songs well and showed up on time on the day of the program. Deepthi maam observed my class..💫

11th August 2022   Today, we were given the responsibility of conducting the Independence Day programs at the school on the 15th of August. The teachers at the school gave some ideas on what the programs could be and suggested names of the students who would be apt for each program. We had planned 7 programs in total and 14 of us were divided into 7 groups to take responsibility for each item .

 8th August 2022 It was my seventeenth day of teaching practice ✨.  We are back at St Goretti's after a short weekend. Today, Joju sir visited us for class observation and gave us instructions on how to control mass answering in class. Also, we are supposed to complete all our portions by this week, so that teachers can conduct revisions for the students for the Onam exam. As usual, I had classes at 8B and 9B

Second observation 🌸  6th August 2022 Only half the students from each class had come for the extra classes. Most of them couldn't come due to the unavailability of school buses. The timetable for the day was prepared by us. I got one period in 9B. Deepthi ma’am came to observe my class. I was able to complete my portions to an extent. Overall, the start of this month seems to be rushing already and I'm finding it difficult to catch up with the speed.

 5th August 2022 It was my fifteenth day of teaching practice. I reached 🏫 at 8.45 am. We were asked to complete all our lesson plans by 15 th August, which seems to be far fetched with these unanticipated breaks. As usual I had classes at 8B and 9B. Tomorrow we made plans to conduct extra classes for students. Also I utilised my free periods to observe Jis class at 9B. 

 4th August 2022 FIRST OBSERVATION 💫 4th August 2022 We had an unexpected holiday for 2 days due to heavy rains. These holidays will further delay the portion completion. We were asked to complete all our Lesson Plans by 15th August, which seems to be farfetched with these unanticipated breaks. As usual, I had classes at 9B and 8B. 6th August 2022 We made plans to conduct extra classes for students of 8B,8C,8D,9B,9C and 9D on Saturday to complete the portions. Also, I utilized my free period to observe  Roshna class at 9C. I've previously observed Roshna class and she always makes it a point to start her class with a valuable lesson. The class was slow-paced and well explained. Dr.Joju sir observed my class too. He gave good comments to my class..💫

  We are back to St. Gorett's for week 4 of INTENSE TEACHING PRACTICE. Today Benedict sir and Joju visited us. Joju sir observed some of our classes while benedict sir checked our records and gave us necessary corrections. Those who were free guided Joju sir to the classes that were to be observed. Later, Joju sir shared some of the common mistakes we tend to make while teaching.
